Prepare vacuum cushion

Preparation
- Cover arm with sleeve
- Avoid wrinkles
Prepare hard shell
Prepare vacuum cushion
- Remove top portion of vacuum cushion
- If needed, evenly distribute content of vacuum cushion: remove valve cap and put the valve in the “open” position by pulling the colored “rim” to the top, allowing air to enter the liner; now spread out the “beads” evenly
- Push colored “rim” down, attach vacuum pump and fix shape of vacuum cushion
Application
Place forearm and hand in brace
Handle should be comfortably positioned in palm of hand
Closing
- Put top portion of vacuum cushion over forearm (assure that all parts of vacuum cushion are within the rigid shell)
- Close straps beginning at the wrist
Adjustment
Handle:
For very large or very small hands adjusting the handle may be necessary. Therefore, loosen the lock and adjust for hand width and length accordingly.
Vacuum cushion:
- Remove valve cap and put the valve in the “open” position by pulling the colored “rim” to the top, allowing air to enter the liner
- Adjust the “beads”
- Push colored “rim” down, attach vacuum pump and fix shape of vacuum cushion by extracting air. Close valve cap.
- Assure proper closure of all straps
