VACO®ankle - improved therapy
 VACOankle provides firm support for the upper ankle joint against pro- and supination by means of a construction consisting of a medial and lateral shell. Both shells are interconnected by a clamp system which allows for easy adjustment to suit each individual patient. Furthermore, the fact that the shells can be moved ventrally to a considerable extent ensures firm stability and promotes comfort. A vacuum cushion allows pressure-free adaptation to address changing swelling conditions.
Patient compliance is excellent and the fact that the device can be adapted to suit individual requirements is a definite asset. In the acute phase of rehabilitation, the vacuum cushion might be used without evacuating the air. Later on, when the ankle area becomes less painful, the vacuum cushion might be evacuated to adjust more accurately and provide additional stability under weight bearing conditions. The device can be quickly and easily attached using the Velcro straps.
