Treatment samples
There are many different methods for the surgical correction and follow-up treatment of cruciate ligament injuries. Every doctor and/surgeon will have his/her own follow-up ideas and every knee joint reacts differently to exercising after surgery. Therefore, we will not suggest a generally valid treatment procedure.
We would, nevertheless, like to pass on a few recommendations:
All movements should always be carried out evenly, gently and without pain |
Gradually increase the frequency and duration of exercise |
Exercise several (3-4) times a day |
Increase the duration of exercise gradually from 5 minutes to up to 30 minutes |
To ensure optimal comfort, lean the upper part of the body against a solid object (e.g. the wall, bed) when exercising. This will avoid putting pressure on the pelvis during exercise. |
If prescribed by the doctor, movement resistance can be increased using the positioning wheel. |
Please discuss the format of your subsequent treatment with your prescribing physician.
